AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas, IONE's 24th Annual Dream Festival, Troy, New York, December 8-9, 2018
And what a dreamy ensemble it was! The Kansas AUMI group was invited to perform telematically in Ione’s 24th Annual Dream Festival "Dream In/Dream Out" Concert. The Dream In/Dream Out Concert was a durational overnight event beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 8 and concluding at dawn Sunday, December 9 (EST). Wave Farm Radio streamed and broadcast Ione's 24th Annual Dream Festival: a world-wide celebration of dreams and dreaming. The concert featured AUMI, for overnight listening and dreaming; and Dreaming in Your own Bed; Telematic Transmission from the AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas, and Alan Courtis from Buenos Aires. Participating artists live from Craive Lab in Troy, New York included Anne Bourne, IONE, Jonas Braasch; with Fort Worden Cistern Simulation; Tomie Hahn, Lisa Barnard Kelley, Norman Lowrey, and Tuku. The AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas consisted of players from the monthly jam sessions (co-sponsored by Independence Inc., the Lawrence Public Library, and AUMI-KU InterArts), and students from Sherrie Tucker’s “Music, Culture, Power” Seminar in the American Studies Department at University of Kansas. Kip Haaheim created the sound environment at Murphy Recital Hall at University of Kansas. Oliver Hall provided his spatialized recordings of the NASA planet sounds.
